Grant Writing Resources
The Resource Development Initiative (RDI) is a partnership of the Children's Services Council and the United Way of Palm Beach County. The goal of RDI is to expand the resources of health and human service systems in Palm Beach County through grant seeking and writing, revenue maximization, and other projects related to the funders' missions.
RDI was established in 1997 due to the funding partners' interest in bringing grant monies into the county. The partners felt it was important to establish an initiative that would coordinate partnerships and successfully bring federal, state, and foundation dollars to Palm Beach County. As RDI has evolved over the last eight years, additional means of generating funds (such as Revenue Maximization) and additional types of resources (such as GIS) have been explored.
Since its inception, RDI projects have generated an estimated $69 million from federal, state and foundation funders for health and human service programs in Palm Beach County. During the 2005 calendar year, programs that RDI assisted brought in a total of $11.3 million, which includes $10 million from federal, state and foundation funders from outside of Palm Beach County and $1.3 million from local foundation and governmental sources.
Mission:
To improve the capacity and effectiveness of human services by fostering collaboration to expand resources in Palm Beach County.
Vision:
RDI strives to be a responsive and flexible leader that supports the missions of our funders.
