Our Children's Well-Being
Since its inception, the Children's Services Council has relied on data to set priorities for meeting the needs of children and families in Palm Beach County. For this reason, creating data-filled reports on the status of children in our county has been a foremost priority. In these community planning reports, we compare ourselves to similar counties, the state and the nation to see how our children are faring on indicators of child well being. We examine current research about children and families, and effective systems and services. In addition, we conduct surveys and focus groups to obtain first-hand information about what parents and children in the community are experiencing. We hope this will point to successes to build on and areas to improve.
How are our children faring?
The reports produced by the Children's Services Council are based upon data provided by a variety of organizations which also provide input on report direction. They, like us, want to know about any changing conditions that need to be addressed to provide the highest quality services and programs to help our children and families reach their full potential. The reports are published to focus on the areas of CSC's focus, to direct attention to legislative priorities affecting children and other issues that have direct bearing on our children's well-being.
